the stocking!

I am so excited, I  recently stumbled on a vintage christmas stocking pattern that my grandmother Ruth  use to knit for everyone in the family.
(The pattern can be found for free  here  )
My grandmother was & is one of my biggest idols, so carrying on one
of her projects or traditions brings me a lot of joy.

My nephew is due to arrive just after Christmas and I figure if I start it for him now, at the snails pace rate I knit, it will be ready just before Christmas next year.

The girls seem to equally share my enthusiasm for new projects, they have taken to ball winding and also now pretend to knit. Which is pretty darn cute ...as long as they are using scrap yarn.

Evelyn takes winding very seriously and delivers excellent balls.

Camille, well, not so much.... I had to cut the yarn twice to get it untangled.....but she really loves the process so what can a mama do?

wish me luck! happy holiday knitting

How fun! Mine is also keen on knitting (aka pulling the needles out of my knitting) -- I'm sure I'll bring eighty projects with me to Palm Springs. So nice to knit in winter. -- Sarvi
